According to Google a purse is a small pouch of leather or plastic used for carrying money, typically by a woman. However, through time it is no longer a ‘small pouch’, it surprisingly carries anything and everything we need.
If you are someone who follows trends and constantly is up to date you need not worry about it with leather purses because they will forever remain a classic. Actually currently they are in trend too! What a win- win situation…

There are various types in leather say for example Vegan Leather, Genuine leather and PU leather.

Since leather purses are the talk of the town let’s just talk a little about how to care for them.

Proper care prevents the leather from drying out and cracking, and it protects it from excessive moisture that can cause the skin to swell or mildew.

  • Handle them with clean hands
Leather is susceptible to absorbing grease and oils. Wipe the surface with a damp white cotton cloth, but be careful not to use too much water, because leather takes time to dry.
  • Apply the appropriate cleaner specially made for leather.
  • Don’t let stains make a house out your leather purse, clean them as soon as you notice them.
Organic stains, like food or blood can often be removed with chalk powder. Crush white chalk, let it sit on the stain overnight and dust it off with a clean cloth.
  • Stuff your unused bag with paper or bubble wrap to help it retain its shape even when not in use

Okay then, now that we know the care lets move onto the advantages of using leather- specifically genuine leather.

  • Most importantly it is durable- Leather can last up to 100 years
  • It’s natural and hence suits the skin like say silk or cotton.
  • In a room full of bags a leather one will stand out hands down. It’s just the genes and the looks!
  • It has great smell
  • Breathability
  • Diversity- Leather can be moulded and made into literally anything, your wish, name it!!

So, to conclude leather is great!.  Leather is a timeless material. It has been used since 3000BC. Tried and tested. And although leather is a by-product of animals, it has greener credentials than synthetic fibers which are chemically manufactured. Some chemicals are used to treat the hides, this is much less than the industrial quantities used in synthetic manufacture, which contributes to air pollution. Leather is bio-degradable.
